WelcomeTo
the East Middle School
Math Lab Home Page |
 |
The
purpose of this Web Site is to describe and explain what the East
Middle School
Math Lab’s function is.
It is also designed to be used as a tool to be used in our classroom
and in your home to help students become more effective mathematicians.
Our goal is for
all students to find success in math in our classroom as well as their
regular
math classroom. There
are several pages on this website.
The first is this homepage that describes what our
mission is and has links to each of our other pages.
There
is a Meet the teacher link that tells a little bit about each of the
three teachers in our lab. There is a page that has numerous
links for both students and parents. The Typical Day Link
describes what students in our class do on a typical day. The
Monthly focus link provides activities and links that deal with our
current focus in the lab. You can find out how to contact us
on
the Contact page. You can see how this Web Site is designed using the
Sitemap link. The final Page of the Website will
display student improvement based both on CRT and ITBS scores. The success math lab
students have shown at EMS
would not have been possible without Mr. Tony Swartz, Mrs.
Shelley Fagenstrom,
and the fine teaching staff at East Middle School.
Math
Lab Mission |
Our students will become respectful,
responsible citizens and lifelong
learners. Every student who comes to our class will be
treated
with respect and will be provided every opportunity to learn the
concepts and the life skills they need to be successful.
Students
in our class will be engaged in a learning activity the entire time
they are in our room. We will base our instruction on
researched
best practices. Students will not only learn concepts, but
how to
problem-solve and discover strategies to find solutions independently.
We will be powerful relationship builders and constantly seek
new
ways to improve our relationship building skills.
Relationship
building is the most important task facing high-performing
teachers. We will always consider Math Lab a work-in-progress
and
constantly seek ways to improve our teaching skill.
